We need your help to provide relief to Tsunami victims in Sri Lanka.

Tsunami lashed the coastal areas of the country causing thousands of deaths and about one million people displaced from their homes. Many governments and humanitarian organizations around the world have offered help in terms of food, shelter, and medicines. It’s our utmost duty to help the victims in anyway we can through relief programmes to support them while they're trying to rebuild their lives.

Dharmapala Institute and Berkeley Buddhist Vihara collectively appeal to all for generous donations towards aiding the victims. We have decided to channel our donations to the victims through the Ratmalana Mallikarama Sarana Padanama (Meaning Foundation) registration # 5745. We are confident that Sarana Padanama, which is a voluntary organization under the guidance of Mallikarama temple, will render the best service for the money sent by us. Sarana Padanama has earned a high credibility by serving underprivileged children and needy Sri Lankans for about 10 years.

  •  Disaster Relief Efforts Launched by Sarana Padanama in Sri Lanka.

Sarana Padanama has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, and natural disasters. The organization has served the people of Sri Lanka nearly for ten years.

Massive relief operations to help the tsunami victims are only second to none of their previous tasks!
Sarana Padanama has planned to implement the relief effort in phases in order for it to be effective. They have formulated plans to channel relief to the areas where they are most needed, the area between Galle and Martara is identified as the primary target for rehabilitation.

Short-term relief efforts (work in progress): 12/30/2004
    - Clean up drinking water wells contaminated with salty water
    - Provide dry food and medicine
    - Food and milk for small children and babies
    - Clothing

    Longer -term relief efforts:
-Sarana Padanama plans to sponsor rehabilitation work for Village, Habaraduwa.
-The logistics coordinators are assigned to assess the scope of the project for this area.
